STEP BY STEP PROCEDURES
IPL advanced technology gently targets and treats damaged, pigmented skin cells. These pigmented cells absorb the pulsed light as heat which destroys the damaged skin, leaving the surrounding healthy skin tissue untouched. IPL stimulates the production of collagen in the skin improving the overall skin texture. IPL provides a gradual improvement to the skin condition which is fully effective within around four to six treatments. The sessions only last around 30 minutes and you can see the effects of IPL almost immediately, your skin will show a clear improvement with uneven pigmented patches being diminished or disappearing entirely.
STEP 1 – CONSULTATION
You will meet with one of our highly trained practitioners for an initial consultation who will explain to you the treatment procedure. Any medical conditions can be discussed during this time. You will be given a patch test to determine your suitability for the treatment. Most of our clients are suited to treatment no matter what their skin type or colour is.
STEP 2 – PROCEDURE:
Your first session will take place at a later date following your consultation. You will be provided with a protective eyewear. The device has an in built cooling mechanism to maintain comfort throughout the procedure. Your treatment usually takes around 30 minutes.
STEP 3 – AFTERCARE:
After the procedure your skin may be slightly red and we advise application of a cold compress if this is the case. You will also be advised to avoid swimming pools and spas in addition to soaps or perfumed skin products which may irritate your skin. We also advise that you avoid excessive sun exposure and exercise for at least 24 hours following your treatment but other than that you may continue as normal

HOW LONG DOES EACH TREATMENT TAKE?
Treatment time depends upon the size of the area however the majority of treatments take between 30-60 minutes
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED BEFORE I SEE RESULTS?
Results are visible immediately however, depending upon your individual needs, a course of treatments may be recommended for optimum results.
ARE THERE ANY POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
Immediately following the treatment, skin may feel warm and pink, similar to mild sunburn. This is completely normal and will soon settle down.
CAN I JUST HAVE A PARTICULAR AREA TREATED?
Absolutely, IPL can be used to for the entire face or a specific targeted area, be it on the face, chest or hands
