This same product can be used in the treatment of excessive perspiration, known as hyperhydrosis. This can be a socially debilitating condition that can cause embarrassment, lack of confidence and self esteem, and social isolation.
The procedure involves a series of small injections to the axillae (armpit). As this is a relatively costly procedure, if your GP is prepared to fund you through the NHS, we are happy to accept referrals of this kind.
Botulinum toxin can also be used in the treatment of excessive perspiration, known as hyperhydrosis. Excessive sweating can occur in the armpits, and palms of the hands and soles of the feet. This can be a socially debilitating condition that can cause embarrassment, lack of confidence and self esteem, and social isolation.
This procedure has an extremely high margin of safety and is often described as uncomfortable but not painful. It involves a simple assessment of the sweat glands so that your practitioner can identify the most appropriate sites to treat. A series of small injections are used to block the nerve impulses that stimulate sweating, decreasing the problem by up to 95%. The treatment is non-permanent, but can last up to nine months. As this is a relatively costly treatment, your GP may be prepared to fund you through the NHS. Beautoxology are happy to accept referrals of this kind.
