microdermabrasion

The dead skin cells on the outer most layer of the skin are removed using a stream of non-allergenic medical grade crystals. A handset is used to direct the stream of crystals over the area to be treated. The handset produces a mild suction to draw away the crystals and skin debris, to reveal newer skin. This leaves the skin looking softer and brighter and overall improves the skins complexion.

The procedure is chemical free and non-invasive that achieves amazing results revealing younger, healthier looking skin from the very first treatment. The skin’s appearance is further improved through increased collagen & elastin production as your body produces a new layer of skin.

HOW IS MICRODERMABRASION USED IN COSMETIC MEDICINE?

The treatment can be used on the face, chest, back or shoulders. This gentle skin resurfacing procedure restores smoother, younger looking skin and is a great treatment for the following skin conditions:

  • The appearance of fine lines, scars and wrinkles

  • Dull and dehydrated skin.

  • Congested pores

  • Blackheads

  • Acne prone skin

  • Discolouration of the skin such as superficial age spots and hyper-pigmentation

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?

Your therapist will assess your skin type and will determine your individual needs. A treatment plan will be discussed with you to achieve the results that you require. Treatments plans can vary from single ‘beauty boost’ treatments to courses of 6 to 10 treatments every 2-4 weeks.

The skin will be cleansed and dried before the treatment is commenced.

This will allow the abrasive crystals to penetrate deeper into the skin. For male clients, ideally your face should be clean shaved the night before a treatment.

A wand will be moved over the skin delivering a fine jet of abrasive crystals. The dead skin particles will be abraded away and the vacuum in the wand will remove the lifted debris away from the skin. This dual action will stimulate blood flow to the skin, collagen and elastin are produced as the skin rejuvenates itself. Once the whole area has been treated the therapist will then concentrate on problem areas such as open pores, fine lines, acne scarring, pigmentation and blemishes.

When the treatment is completed a simple moisturiser will be applied to replenish any lost moisture and prevent the skin becoming dry.
