Those bumps are often milia: small keratin cysts trapped under the surface, not ordinary blackheads. At Beautoxology, cryotherapy can remove confirmed milia after assessment. Picking at them at home usually makes the area look worse for longer.

Milia versus other small bumps

Milia: firm, white or pearl-like, do not express like a whitehead, common under eyes and on cheeks
Whiteheads or comedones: often softer, linked to congestion, and may respond to medical skincare or peels

Sun spots or flat pigment: colour change on the surface rather than a hard white bead

Why creams and squeezing fail

Milia sit under a thin layer of skin. Exfoliating acids may help nearby texture over time, but they rarely empty a sealed cyst overnight. Squeezing can inflame the area and leave a mark without clearing the bump.

What cryotherapy for milia involves

After assessment, targeted cold treatment can lift confirmed milia. Healing is usually a short local process: a small crust or mark that settles, then clearer skin where the bump was. Numbers, aftercare and review timing are agreed in clinic, not guessed from a photo.
