Heavy Lids Are Often the Brow Sitting Low, Not Just Tired Eyes

You have slept well. Eye cream is fine. Still, the upper lids feel heavy, makeup collects in the crease, and photos make you look less open than you feel. The reflex search is under-eye filler. Sometimes the real issue sits higher: the brow position.

A brow that has drifted down can crowd the lid space. At Beautoxology, muscle relaxant treatment for a brow lift is a focused appointment that softens the muscles pulling the brow down, so the frontalis can lift a little more.

Heavy lids versus hollow under eyes

Tear trough concerns sit under the eye: shadow, hollow or a tired groove that stays even when you are rested. Brow heaviness sits above: less lid show, a flatter brow line, or a sense that the eye looks smaller.

Both can make you look tired. They are not the same treatment. If the under-eye hollow is the main problem, start with our tear trough page and the guide to why under eyes still look tired after sleep. If the brow is low and the lid feels crowded, brow-lift Botox is the conversation.

What a non-surgical brow lift actually does

  • Targets muscles that pull the brow down or flatten the outer brow

  • Allows a modest lift and a more open lid space when anatomy allows

  • Does not remove excess skin the way a surgical brow lift or blepharoplasty would

  • Is separate from treating the vertical frown line between the brows

For the line between the brows itself, see when softening the frown line makes sense. That is glabella work. Brow lift is about position and lid heaviness, not the frown crease alone.

When brow-lift treatment helps

  • Brows that sit lower than they used to, especially at the outer third

  • Upper lids that feel heavy even when you are not tired

  • Makeup sitting in the crease sooner than it used to

  • A flat or slightly angry look in photos that softens when you manually lift the brow a little

Results build over several days. Aftercare timing matches other Botox work: see the first 48 hours after Botox. Longevity depends on dose, muscle strength and how expressive your brow is; see how long Botox lasts.

When it is the wrong first step

  • A clear under-eye hollow or tear trough shadow: see tear trough rather than brow lift alone

  • Significant loose upper-lid skin that needs surgical assessment

  • A brow already sitting very high where more lift would look surprised

  • Active infection, recent eye surgery, or anything that needs medical review first
