One day Foundation/Entry Level Botulinum Toxin

OVERVIEW
​

This foundation course is for medically qualified personnel who have an interest in learning about aesthetic treatments. The course is for both beginners who have no experience or for those who require further training in order to continually progress with their career as an aesthetic practitioner. The purpose of this course is to provide Healthcare Professionals with an in depth understanding of the pharmacology/toxicology of Botulinum Toxin Type A and its use in cosmetic medicine. 

By the end of the course the practitioner will be able to deliver muscle relaxants (Botox®) treatments to clients safely and competently. The practitioner will understand how to minimise and treat potential complications and the basic prerequisites for setting up an aesthetics business. 

On completion of the course the delegate will be issued with a fully accredited CPD certification.

 

Entry requirements:

You must be medically qualified as a surgeon, doctor, dentist or nurse with a current registration with the GMC, GDC or NMC, or equivalent if you are an overseas delegate

Course Length: 1-Day: Theory/Practical- 7 CPD points

 

Morning Theoretical Components:-

• Introduction to the use of Botulinum toxin 

• Therapeutic use/Aesthetic use 

• Building a business, insurance, working within professional guidelines

• Botulinum Toxin- variations in preparations 

• Pharmacology of Botox®

• Facial Anatomy

• Aetiology of the ageing face

• Examination and classifications of aging in the upper face

• Indications/contra-indications and treatment

• Safe Administration

• Managing side effects and complications

 

Afternoon Practical Component:

• The consultation

• Facial examination and analyse

• Meeting the needs of the patient (managing expectations)

• Demonstration by expert practitioner

• Delegate to practice on live models under supervision of the trainer

• Questions/summary

• Evaluations

• Close
